The day arrived blustery and with ominous grey clouds threatening. As the procession left the school to walk around the village a few drops of rain pit pattered down but undeterred, the Roberts Bakery Brass Band continued to play and the retiring Queen Phoebe Hodgson and her retinue led the way to the Village Hall Field where Rosie Pitchford was crowned Whitley Rose Queen 2025 by Julie Platt. 

The rain stopped and the sun came out as the afternoon progressed and Whitley School sang some Victorian songs complete in authentic costume to celebrate 150 years of Whitley School.
