The sun shone and the music played for this year's Whitley Rose Queen onSaturday 8th June.The Roberts Bakery Brass Band led the procession from Whitley Village School, around the duck pond and back to the Village Hall. Retiring Rose Queen Sophie welcomed Queen Elect, Phoebe Hodgson and her retinue to the stage where Suzanne Faulkner crowned the Whitley Rose Queen for 2024.The crowd were entertained with a fancy dress parade by pre-school children, singing from Whitley school with children dressed in 1940's  fashion to commemorate the 100 years since the D-day landings. Bubbleology filled the air with bubbles large and small much to the delight of the watching children and the Apex Cheerleaders dazzled with their acrobatic display. Another amazing Rose Queen Fete!
